About Crossville, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in White County, Illinois, Crossville is a small village with about 750 residents. This community was laid out in 1872 and was named for Thomas Cross. It was originally founded due to the development of the Cairo and Vincennes Railroad, as it was believed that the railroad would be built through Crossville. That venture was ultimately unsuccessful, but the community remained.  Crossville is located on Illinois Route 1 between Carmi and Calvin, although larger cities are also a short drive away.

With such a small population, the community doesn’t support any major attractions or tourist destinations. However, there are some prominent businesses found here. Franny’s Pizzeria located in East Main Street, and there are several specialty shops located throughout the village – Jane’s Beauty & HobbyShop, Cox Hardware, and the Garden Shed, to name a few. There are several hotels located in nearby Grayville, and Carmi is home to two popular bed and breakfasts that many visitors enjoy.

Crossville is known for its four distinct seasons, including hot and humid summers. Average high temperatures will reach the mid-80s at the peak of the summer, but there are many days where conditions become even hotter. When thermostat readings push into the 90s, residents rely heavily on their central air conditioning systems in order to stay cool. They also have their reliable, local HVAC repair company on speed dial in case of any issues and to schedule regular maintenance during the cooler spring months.

Climate controls are also a necessity during the winter months. While weather is milder here than other parts of the country, residents will still be faced with low temperatures that fall well below freezing overnight. To stay safe and to prevent damage at home, it is important to have a reliable gas or electric furnace in place.
