About Bone Gap, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Bone Gap, Illinois is a tiny village found in Edwards County. About 245 people call this community home, which is a population decrease from the 2000 census. The community is also small geographically, as it only consists of about 0.60 square miles of total area. Bone Gap is located 7 miles north of the county seat of Albion, and the area was originally discovered by French trappers before it became permanently settled.

As a small community, Bone Gap isn’t home to any major attractions or things to do. There is a fire department, a dry cleaner, and several churches found here. Fortunately the village is situated between Albion and West Salem, and there are some noteworthy businesses located in those communities. Albion is home to a variety of specialty shops like Gillards True Value Hardware and Copeland’s Furniture & Carpets, while the small village of West Salem has several restaurants within its limits - R & J’s Café, Casey’s Carry Out Pizza, and the West Salem Village Café.

The weather in Bone Gap will change with the seasons. Summers are typically hot and humid, and average highs often reach well into the 90s. Central air conditioning systems run quite consistently for many homes during these months. However, as the weather cools off in the autumn, these units are usually turned off in favor of a gas or electric furnace. Daytime highs in January typically only reach the mid-30s, so it is crucial that residents have some type of system in place to stay warm.

The right climate controls will also benefit Bone Gap residents in other ways. Newer systems can improve indoor air quality, as they’ll remove allergens and dust from circulating air. This is especially beneficial for residents who are living with asthma and allergies. Likewise, Energy Star appliances can save residents money on their utility costs.
